The following brief information explains the various cargo surveys carried out by Dunsford Marine limited. Generally with these services we can act on behalf of the following sectors in the marine industry:

  • Pre-shipment inspections
  • These type of inspections include:

Containers
Pre loading inspection of goods; inspection of loading goods into containers to verify quality; quantity and condition of consignment; noting stowage of goods.

Break Bulk
Inspection noting condition of goods and/or packaging; measuring goods to obtain volume verification of cargo.

Loading Surveys
These inspections generally include: Supervision of loading to verify method of handling is in accordance to manifest and / or clients instructions; inspection for loading damage; inspection of stowage and securing aboard

Discharge Surveys
These inspections generally include: Inspection prior to discharge; Supervision of discharge to verify method of handling is in accordance to manifest and / or clients instructions; inspection on discharge for damage.

Cleanliness
To inspect and certify cleanliness of holds or tanks prior to loading of cargo.

Draft Surveys
To obtain draft measurements prior to discharge and after discharge in order to quantify cargo tonnage.

Damage Surveys
To assess cause and loss to cargo, ship or equipment.

Vegetable Oil/Tallow – Loading & Discharge Surveys
Surveys involve verification of the cargo quantity and the obtaining of sample and analysis to ensure the oil meets consignees specifications.
