MARINE INSURANCE

Damage Assessment & Surveys for Insurance is carried out on on behalf of the following sectors in the marine industry:

Hull

  • The boat owner or insurance broker
  • The insurance underwriter
  • The P&I insurance club

Cargo

  • The cargo shipper or consignee
  • The shipping company and / or P&I insurance
  • The insurance underwriters
  • Hull/Machinery/Equipment Damage Surveys

To interview parties involved in the incident, inspect and note damage and investigate. Assess cause and loss to vessel and or equipment, prepare estimates and report for the underwriters to make a decision as to liability and or claim acceptance.

On evidence of a third party being a cause issue a proforma claim against that party on behalf of the owners / underwriters

On acceptance, monitor repairs, obtain discharge , scrutinize and adjust final invoices and submit to underwriter for payment

At the request of the underwriter undertake to recover liability costs from third parties.

Cargo Damage Surveys
To interview parties involved in the incident, inspect and note damage and investigate. Assess cause and loss to cause and loss to cargo, ship or equipment, prepare report with costing of loss from document obtained and submit to the client (shipping company or the underwriters).

On evidence of a third party being a cause issue a proforma claim against that party on behalf of the Client (shipping company / underwriter)

At the request of the underwriter undertake to recover liability costs from third parties
